September Boot Prints: Jaclyn Sifert

Each month, our Good Stewards receive a copy of Boot Prints, an internal company newsletter. In every issue, one employee is spotlighted. Our spotlighted employee for September is Jaclyn Sifert! Jaclyn recently transitioned from being a Communications Portfolio Manager into her new role as GSC's Director of Sales & Marketing. Learn more about her below! 

Q. What does being a Good Steward mean to you?

A. Being a Good Steward means caring for and about rural life. Rural communities have always been innovators – from adopting new farming techniques to diversifying income streams – and that same spirit of resourcefulness is what makes them well-suited partners for renewable energy development. Our job as Good Stewards is to foster that connection.

Q. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

A. Teleportation. I have little patience when traveling for work.

Q. What is your favorite part of working at GSC?

A. My favorite part of working at GSC is the people – we employ the most talented, creative, and enthusiastic group of individuals, and GSC would not be the amazing company it is without them. I love hearing about the diverse experiences and skills our team brings to the table. Our team is made up of lifelong learners, which makes every day unique and provides consistent opportunities for growth and change for all of us at GSC.

Q. What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching or reading?

A. I just finished reading The Midnight Train by Matt Haig.

Q. What do you like most about the work we do here?

A. I enjoy educating our clients about rural life and the unique community culture of each project area. I believe we do our best work brainstorming outreach ideas tailored to a specific community, and only GSC can do it because we live it. I’ve seen the “click” too many times to count, from our clients and our GSC team. It most often happens in a project area – sometimes at an event, sometimes at a kitchen table with a landowner. The “click” is realizing why we do what we do and the satisfaction of knowing you are positively impacting someone’s life. I see it in a person’s eyes and body language, and I think to myself, “Aha, now you are one of us.”

Q. What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?

A. Observe and listen before making change.

Q. What's one thing on your bucket list?

A. To travel more as a family. Travel creates love and tolerance for other places and cultures, and I want that for my kiddos.
