Each month, our Good Stewards receive a copy of Boot Prints, an internal company newsletter. In every issue, one employee is spotlighted. Our spotlighted employee for October is Erin Rydgren! Erin is a Community Engagement Specialist who works from her home in northwestern Iowa. Erin joined Good Steward Consulting in July of 2024 as a Local Representative and advanced to her current role in May of 2025. Learn more about her below!

Q: What does being a Good Steward mean to you?
A: Good stewardship is a commitment to care for what has been entrusted to you. It’s the dedication to nurture something that doesn’t belong to you alone, whether it is a business, a community or the Earth. A good steward gives what they have- time, money or talent- with the aim of making things better for everyone. Their pride is not reliant on ownership or recognition, but in a job done well. For me, G.R.A.C.E. embodies the definition of being a good steward.
Q: How would you describe your company culture?
Hands down, my colleagues and the leadership team are AMAZING. It is a genuine delight to work with this group of people. Being part of a team that actively listens, supports, and strives for collective growth is a wonderful experience, and I believe it makes a real difference for GSC and our clients.

Q: What's one thing people don't know about you that they would be surprised to find out?
I was only a few credits away from earning a minor in dance when I was at college. I swapped out to earn my minor in Eastern European and Russian Studies instead!
Q: How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been here?
My role has evolved from serving as a local representative for a single project to being brought on full-time as a Community Engagement Associate. My role is unique as I now serve as a local representative for two projects and perform CA duties for GSC. It has been a great journey learning how the industry works from a very interesting perspective.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I would love to be able to instantly (or even very quickly!) understand and speak any language.

Q: What’s the last song you listened to?
I’m obsessed with Ordinary by Alex Warren.
Q: What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
I just re-binged Dead Boy Detectives on Netflix. I am still so sad they canceled it without a second season!!! I am also a pretty regular binge reader as my “to-read” pile is taller than I am. Right now, I’m reading “Salem in the American Revolution” by Richard J. Morris and “A History of the World in 100 Objects” by Neil MacGregor.
Thanks for being on the team, Erin!
Stay tuned for next month's Boot Prints Employee Spotlight.
