Each month, our Good Stewards receive a copy of Boot Prints, an internal company newsletter. In every issue, one employee is spotlighted. Our spotlighted employee for February is Stacy Wagner! Stacy is a Senior Communications Manager who works from ger home in Indiana. She joined Good Steward Consulting full-time in October of 2021! Learn more about her below!

Q: What does being a Good Steward mean to you?
A: To me, being a Good Steward means hard work and understanding the importance of building relationships and trust with the landowners and community members that I work with. Deciding to participate in a renewable energy project is not easy and unfortunately, participants often experience criticism for the decision they have made. I work hard to make sure they know they are not alone and I am there to support them.
Q: What are you most proud of in your career so far?
A: I am most proud of the experience I have gained by being able to work on a project from the time of land acquisition through operations. This is due to the fact that my family was signed up as participants in a project in my home county. Unfortunately, many projects never make it to the finish line. I consider myself lucky to have had this opportunity and love being able to share the knowledge and experience I have gained.

Q: What's one thing people don't know about you that they would be surprised to find out?
A: My 40th Birthday party was a Build-A-Bear party! Or my husband and I are long-time members of E’ville Iron Street Rods, host of the Frog Follies. The nation’s largest pre ’49 street rod show. I’ve served in many capacities, including President and Rod Run Chairman. Or that I’ve walked many half marathons! Or that I love football.
Q: How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been here?
A: I joined Good Steward Consulting as an Independent Contractor Local Representative in early 2021. By summertime of that year, I was asked to join the GSC team full-time. I joined as an Assistant Communications Manager. When my communications manager left on maternity leave, I stepped up to cover her role while continuing to handle my responsibilities. My thought was I did not want to give up any of my responsibilities since she would be coming back, and things would go back to how they were. Little did I know that she would decide not to return. I was then given the opportunity to fill her role permanently. Later, in August 2024, I advanced to a Senior Communications Manager. The company has seen great growth in the time that I’ve been a part of it, and I have enjoyed watching the company’s procedures and our roles change to meet the demand for our services.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
A: I have often wished I could clone myself so I could be in more than one place at a time. I don’t like missing anything and hate it when conflicts arise, and I have to make a hard decision on where to be, which means missing something else!
Q: How did you get started in the industry?
A: While working at home during covid, my family received a phone call from a Land Agent asking if we were interested in participating in a solar project with our farm. After learning the project would be looking to hire a Local Representative, I recommended a few folks who did not work out and was then encouraged to apply. I came onboard as a Local Representative and was later asked to join GSC full-time.
Q: What’s the last song you listened to?
A: The Piano Guys rendition of A Sky Full of Stars.
Thanks for being on the team, Stacy!
