Each month, our Good Stewards receive a copy of Boot Prints, an internal company newsletter. In every issue, one employee is spotlighted. Our spotlighted employee for April is Shane Glinski! Shane is a Communications Portfolio Manager who works from his home in Wisconsin. He joined Good Steward Consulting full time in January of 2021, but started as an intern in 2019! Learn more about him below!
Q: What does being a Good Steward mean to you?
A: A good steward is someone who manages the resources given to them for the benefit of others (the next generation) over themselves. It’s ensuring there is enough for here and now, as well as those who are after us. A good steward nurtures, tends, and shepherds what has been provided to them to care for.

Q: What are you most proud of in your career so far?
A. The experiences I’ve had over the last five years are absolutely priceless. I have friends in the corporate world or hopping jobs who simply don’t receive the amount of experience I have had here at GSC. If I had to go back and start somewhere else for my first career, I don’t think I’d pick any other place as the opportunities have been incredible!
Q. What is the most interesting project you've worked on here?
A. [A Wisconsin Project], and I say that because that project brought a lot of growth personally, but I also think for our team. We worked some long days and nights on that project to lift it out of the pit it was in when the client brought us on. There were a lot of cultural challenges we had to overcome, but I honestly believe that project
made me a better professional and gave me skills I wouldn’t have today if it wasn’t for that experience.

Q. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
A. I would either want to be able to fly or teleport. There are so many times while traveling where I wish I could just “poof” and be standing in my living room!
Q: How did you get started in the industry?
A. It was the fall of 2019, and I really needed to find an internship in my field of study in order to graduate the following year – December 2020. I was checking out the internship board in the Communications building on the UW-Stevens Point campus and there was a flyer that said, “[Solar Project] Public Relations Intern” and interested students could send their resume to Abby Flatness. So, I did, was contacted by Abby and a few days later met with Mariah at the Applebee’s in my hometown. Mariah offered me the role, which lasted until COVID. We kept in touch and Mariah called me up while I was working at Menards and without really even saying hello, she said “do you want a job?”. I said “OF COURSE”, and the rest is history!

Q: What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
A. I have a goal this year to read at least four books a month and so far, I’m doing quite well. At the time of writing this, I’m reading a book on Marriage by Paul David Tripp and it’s super good! PS – reading it to continue to grow in my marriage, not because there are problems, LOL.
Q. What’s one thing on your bucket list?
A. I’ve never formally written out a bucket list, but I would love to travel to all 50 states. So far, I’ve been to 40 states and most of them I drove to.
Thanks for being on the team, Shane!
