Communications Portfolio Manager 

Portfolio Managers are an integral part of the Good Steward Consulting service delivery model. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and executing communication and outreach strategies for renewable energy projects - from beginning to end. Each portfolio will have project scopes which can vary from single pieces of collateral and event coordination to multifaceted, multichannel marketing/outreach campaigns. Portfolio Managers work together with our Vice President of Operations and the Director of Operations to deliver best-in-class service. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for all facets of the portfolio, including the respective client(s) and their specific processes. He/she/they will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, help keep long-term projects on track, and handle more urgent requirements for all members of the Senior Leadership Team (President, VP of Finance, and VP of Operations).

This person is a self-starter, with a positive attitude who enjoys working through people to achieve tremendous results. Familiar with rural living and/or agriculture, this person must be able to professionally communicate with clients in a formal manner and communicate/relate with stakeholders in rural project site areas with ease and familiarity. This position holder is an expert in written communication and verbal communication, loves a good challenge, has a high level of integrity, works diligently to exceed expectations, and is also willing to follow and implement someone else’s vision while having fun with colleagues and clients. He/she/they understand the need for GSC to consistently deliver the HIGHEST quality service and work product.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables

  • Plan, approve, and implement an outreach strategy

  • Define tasks and required resources

  • Manage all finances within a portfolio budget

  • Allocate project resources

  • Create communication schedule and project communication timeline

  • Track deliverables

  • Support and direct team members

  • Lead quality assurance

  • Monitor and report on project progress

  • Present reports on progress, as well as problems and solutions, directly to clients and/or executive team

  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs

  • Evaluate and assess strategies in use

  • Responsible for all personnel and projects in the portfolio

  • Approval of all documents to be used for public outreach

  • Train and manage all employees within the portfolio

  • Research and document information (uncover all information - “stretch”) for portfolio

  • Hold accountable and assist in the development of all processes and procedures within your portfolio

  • Responsible for the information, development, and delivery of recon report for each project in the portfolio

  • Master knowledge of the regulatory process and local government personnel/ procedures

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 15+ years of professional business experience

  • Bachelors Degree in a business-related, agriculture-related, or energy-related field of study; marketing, communications, or public relations degrees preferred

  • Direct or indirect experience with agriculture (farming) and direct experience with rural living

  • Preference to maintain in-office hours at HQ site per regular office hours schedule or as agreed to for remote work for this position

  • Ability to travel

  • Valid driver’s license a must

  • Background check required

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Office
